Mukta Vadera‘s presentation was fantastic! She provided clear information about Hinduism in an engaging way. My students learned about Brahm, Laws of Nature, 4 stages of Vedic life, Hindu festivals, levels of happiness, etc. Mukta answered questions from my students in a way they could understand. Her presentation added richness to our classroom unit. Thank you. —Asher Marron, Holy Names High School (Nov 17, 2020)

Swati Sugandhi: “Namaste, thank you for joining us for this month’s dialogue, your answers and voice(singing) was really informative for today’s questions, we love having them!”. “Swati sang extremely well, that was a beautiful prayer”, “we should make a requirement that all leaders have to sing (kidding!)” and “that was a great answer and explained well” –HWPL hosts (Nov 21, 2020).

Manju Gupta did a great job. My students write a reflection essay following each of the lectures they hear from our guest speakers about various religions. I received many positive comments about Manju’s presentation. She was very prepared and organized. The PowerPoint presentation was helpful in providing visuals for what was being discussed. I, and the class felt Manju was extremely knowledgeable on the topic and many students expressed how much they learned and how useful it was going to be in their practice of medicine. –Ken Wetmore, Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia (Nov 10, 2020).

.

Mukta (Vadera), you are a treasure and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the time and energy you shared with us. “Dilip and the Hindu Speakers shared valuable and interesting information with our Jewish high school students. They were well-prepared and allowed ample time for questions to deepen our understanding.” –Rabbi Lisa Delson, Peninsula Temple Sholom, Burlingame, California (duration 2014-2020).

Akshat Sharma‘s one-hour talk brought light to those present about the Hindu religion. His presentation was clear, focused, and understandable to those present who knew little about Hinduism.  His knowledge and ability to communicate was highly commendable and it was clear that his faith was a deep part of his life.  We all felt that we had a better insight into the Hindu faith. – Rev. William Kruse. Co-Chair of the Spirituality Initiative of the Office of Diversity and Equity of San Mateo County, California.

.

Dr. Dilip Amin responded and shared not only a prayer but told a personal story of how his life had been affected by mental health issues.  He spoke with compassion and all present were moved by his words.  For the few minutes he spoke, we felt his deep commitment to his faith. – Rev. William Kruse. Co-Chair of the Spirituality Initiative of the Office of Diversity and Equity of San Mateo County, California.

.

Gaurav Rastogi and Dilip Amin have brought depth and richess to my world religions class. Their life witness, calming presence, and passion for the Hindu tradition has instilled in my students a profound appreciation for the beauty of Hinduism. The practice of meditation and the reflections on how God is seen in relationships has provided students with amazing tools to continue to make sense of the mysteries of life.  I am very grateful for their work! – Ismael Ruiz, M.A.T., Instructor, Religious Studies, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory School, San Francisco.

What Speakers Gained from HSB?

.

Swati Sugandhi (Nov 24, 2020): Being a speaker at HSB has been an extremely enriching experience for me. HSB provides an amazing framework for Hindu speakers to get support and provide support to other speakers, and in finding speaking opportunities. For my recent presentation, HSB helped me in finding an opportunity as a speaker at HWPL (an international peace organization). HSB has speakers with immense knowledge so while I prepared, I bounced off my ideas in the group and got feedback on my practice videos. This helped me present confidently during the final presentation. It was a great experience for me to learn about opinions of other faiths and, also to see them appreciate Hindu thought process. Thank you HSB. I look forward to the partnership for many years to come!”

.

Mukta Vadera (Dec 8, 2020): About a year ago, while casually browsing through my emails I came across one from San Bruno Temple about a meeting that was to take place that Sunday on how to become an ambassador for Hindu religion. Out of curiosity, I decided to go and see what it was all about. Hosted by HSB, this meeting was about how one could become a speaker and go on speaking assignments to various churches, schools and other venues giving talks and presentations about Hinduism. Not too fond of being in front of people in any kind of public speaking role, it was way out of my comfort zone, but for some reason I decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did. HSB is an excellent showcase to gain knowledge and experience on how to confidently present factual information about Hinduism to the world. It is a great way to share information that brings people and communities together, i.e. educate people about your faith and in the process get to learn about theirs. Thank you HSB for bringing awareness and spreading information and knowledge about our great religion.

.

Dakshata Talekar said, “At HSB, one doesn’t have to be a professional speaker. The supportive peers at HSB help you prepare for your topic and provide all the mentoring you need. HSB also respects your choices and gives you complete freedom to select the topic that you would like to present.” She further added, “It is the need of this hour for Hindu parents and individuals to talk to school children and community in general about Hindu values, concepts and practices to clear misconceptions and misinformation around Hinduism.”
