Padmaja Rao

Padmaja Rao holds a master’s degree in Community Agency Counseling, post-master’s certificates (Peace & International Security Studies and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace), and is certified as a Global Career Development Facilitator. Padmaja has also actively volunteered to educate the local community-at-large about the tenets and contributions of Hinduism and more specifically, its connection to Yoga, having presented to Rotary Club members and university students, staff, and faculty. She has also presented to the larger community in the metropolitan Detroit area as a member of Hindu American Foundation from which she recently received a Dharma Ambassador certificate. She has also contributed to interfaith forums. Padmaja’s advocacy efforts over the years have also included reaching out to local publications and businesses to correct misinformation about Hinduism. She has also participated as a member of the State of Michigan’s Standards Committee to review and make recommendations for textbooks used in K-12. Lastly, Padmaja has also pursued further educational studies through Hindu University of America (HUA) and recently served as a panelist for a special HUA event to share her perspectives and information about her experiences with Hindudvesha as a second generation Hindu American woman. Padmaja lives in Berkley, Michigan.
