Vishal Agarwal

Vishal moved from India to the United States as a student in 1993, subsequently earning graduate degrees in Engineering (University of Florida at Gainesville, 2006) and Business Administration (University of Minnesota at Minneapolis, 2006). Vishal is a private scholar with several publications in topics related to India and Hinduism, a community volunteer and leader in his region, and leans towards the Vishishtadvaita Vedanta tradition. He serves on the Executive Board of the Hindu Society of Minnesota and has received service and scholarship awards from The Hindu American Foundation, the Hindu Society of Minnesota, World Association of Vedic Studies and Hindu World Congress. Vishal is also the founder of the weekend Hindu School (‘Hindu American Temple School’) and the ‘Hindu Youth of Minnesota’ (HYMN) teenager club at his local temple. He has devised a 10 year curriculum and has written over a dozen books and booklets to teach the same to children and teenagers. These books are being used across many weekend schools in the United States and elsewhere. Vishal regularly teaches the India/Hinduism portion of World Cultures classes in middle schools in his region. He has also been an active member of regional Interfaith organizations through which he talks at many multifaith events. Vishal lives with his wife and two children (in college and high school respectively) in Minneapolis (USA).
